Take a trip into former years and recall what has been lost, what has been gained, some of it good, some of it not so good. History is for remembering and reminiscing, bringing a smile to the old, and a glimmer of light to the young on how things used to be.

Included are recipes, some passed down through generations, and some new, and some not so new.

I remember when the Sound of Music had its first showing in our town. My husband and I went to a drive-in to see it. Drive-ins were very popular back then. A huge screen filled one end of the parking lot, and the parking lot was divided into sections and aisles. Each section contained posts with speakers. You drove into a spot, lifted the speaker from its post and hung it over the window on the driver's side of the car.

At the end of the movie some folks forgot the speaker was still attached as they started to drive away. They caught on quickly to that!

Since then drive-ins have been replaced by new technology. Nevertheless "Sound of Music" lives on, and has become a classic,
genuine wholesomeness, uplifting, and inspiring. It is shown every year on television during the Christmas season, and I still enjoy watching it, even look forward to it. Also, it remains available on DVD as well.
