The Day I went Flying-the first time
It started out as a pretty fun day. My best friend( at the time) Kota came over and wanted to know If I would ride Bikes to the park with him. So I bring my Bicycle down the stairs and we take off. We decided that we wanted to play Cops and Robbers. So we are chasing each other all over our side of town. When we cross the narrow White Lick Creek Road Bridge I press on my brakes to slow down from going down the hill and my front brakes go out. So I am able to make it safely off the bridge and into the Parking lot at Flapjacks Cafe. We take a look at my bike and I figure out what is wrong but Kota doesnt. I knew I had back brakes So I didnt think I was in danger riding my bike. We were getting tired of playing Cops and Robbers so Kota suggest that we switch bikes. So I said yes and we switched. It was my turn to be the bad guy so I took off riding on his bike. We had a big enough gap in the traffic to make back to the other side of the safely. Then we go down the steep trail and onto the trail. Kota starts to get close So I speed up and try to lose him. I get far enough ahead of him to lose sight of him. Next I make a hairpin turn to the left and go down this dirt trail to lose him. Thinking I knew a short cut to make it home before him. I take a turn down another trail and fly down it and make it out to the Paved Trail right as I round the corner to make it to the trail's end Kota just pops up out of the middle of no where. So I freak out and race across the pedestrian bridge and make a bee line dive for the whole in the fence to make it home. As we come up on our row I thought I would pull a trick and slam on the brakes and throw him off. Then I hop off the bike and bend to pick the bike up so I could set it down and take off on another sidewalk. well Kota was following to close and was using my Front brakes and couldnt avoid a collision. He slams right into my beehind and I go flying about 4 to 5 feet and land on the grass doing a belly flop!:smack:
needless to say I was in pain for the rest of the day!
