I want, I want, I want...

What I want for the New Year...
I want my body to just get up and get over itself and stop refusing to do the things I need it to do. I hate being sick most of the time, and having only a handful of "good days".
I want to spend more time doing all the things I moved here to do, and less time doing the things I HAVE to do. Sigh. I hate "havetas". I don't mind cooking and cleaning so much; I mind not being able or having the time to go outside, prep my compost, dig in my garden, get plants ready. I mind having to work to bring money into the house when I really want to be collecting eggs and feeding chickens, raising milk cows and making cheese and butter.
I want to make more ceramics, pretty ones, and not just specifically for people, but because I like the creativity.
I want so little, really. But unfortunately it takes money to get to where I want to be, to have the things and time I want.

People CAN choose to want, to drive themselves to do their best... I have lupus, so I know all too well what it is like to deal with one's own body refusing to do what I want it to. That doesn't stop me - nor should it stop anyone - from doing whatever they are able. DH is crippled, crushed in a work accident - and right this minute is baking bread.
