This blog is basically to chart my progress in trying to lose weight...

This is a Record of my daily events including my family when appropriate for my other family members to see if they choose to.

This is my legacy, for my family to read after I am dead and burried. So, any thing on here is meant for them only and if it offends anyone, my apologies, but, its not meant for you and them

Chow for now...

May the LORD Bless all who see this.

I wish you well...

Sick

Posted 11-12-2011 at 03:31 PM by woodworkingmenace

Ive been sick for two days now...
My Brother in law gave it to my Sister in law, who gave it to my Son who gave it to me...

Why, when people are sick, dont they stay home instead of passing the blasted bug around!!? I loved it when my kids were out of School, cause there would be no sickness going around, until they went back!

Being around people is hazardous to your health. LOL

So, my lungs are raw, head stuffed up and my Wife is wanting me to wait til Monday to go to the Doctors and get a 'z-pack'... Just what I need, more pills!! I told her, no thanks, that I hope to be better before that

If I can get some sleep, I will be better, since I didnt sleep all night, last night... Just tossed and turned and waited to get up, hacking up a lung and blowing my nose all night, (and a good time was held by all LOL).

My Daughter brought home one of her Girlfriends, because she was locked out of the house, and, she just went home...
I wont turn away any kid who needs help, but, I also expect the kid to 'eat' something!! This girl never came out of my Daughters room til my Daughter got home from work!

I was up at 5:30am, and, peeling potatoes for potato soup at 8am... Im thinking, OK, is this what Beetle Bailey (the comic character), did, when he was on KP (Kitchen Patrol I think it stands for), in the Army??? LOL.

Of course, my Wife, is a hard taskmaster.
She boiled up a pot full of beets, and she is canning them now, she sliced up a huge pile of apples to stuff in the freezer, and sliced and diced her way to something else, but, my foggy mind doesnt remember what else she did *sigh*...

OK, she just called my Son into the kitchen, so, canning is commencing... Yummy I love pickled Beets.

They made 6 quarts and 6 pints of bread & butter pickles that are downstairs in the cupboard, and, she has a 2 quart jar that wasnt quite full in the refridgerator for sandwhiches. Now 'that' was a bit overpowering, smelling all that vinegar, while she was cooking and canning, a bit tough on the lungs for me.

I spent the morning, listening to "ll Divo"...
WOW, what a great bunch of Opera Singers!!
The 'sound' reminds me of the 'Student Prince', and that Tenor who sang on there from way back in the 50s, I think, and, for the life of me, I cant remember his name, but, my Dad listened to him, and I loved listening to his singing, and watching his movies. It really bugs me, I cant remember his name, sheesh. Terrible to get old, and have 'gaps' in my memory like this.
OK, MARIO LANZA!!! I knew it would come to me eventually !!! Great voice!

The LORD really blesses some people with great 'pipes', so that others can enjoy thier singing. Reason why I like to listen to American Idol and all the singing shows, as that guy from West Virginia, (OK mind, doing it to me again, Eugene 'something or other' Jr.). And, that little girl from from America's Got Talent, and Im not even going to try and remember her name LOL... cause its just not there, but, I remember that voice from a, what, 9 year old??? Sounded like she was 30 years old, the sound coming from that youngster, also, Britians Got Talent, and the 40 year old Susan Boyle who stunned everyone!! WOW!!
Kareoke Killer, she was!! She deserved the Standing Ovation she got, and if I was there, I would have been standing with the rest of them!!

Beautiful voices, and I hope that they live til they are 100, just to listen to them sing...
Great Voices like Elvis, and Karen Carpenter, and all those silenced long before thier time, from this or that, and we only have them in our memories now...

Is that how it is, getting old? Living for those memories and wanting to hear the folks that brought each of us such pleasure... Wanting to see them sing again, but, knowing that we too shall pass that way, and, maybe we will get to hear them again ... I can only hope!

OK, Wife and Son canned 6, 2 quart jars of sliced Beets...Gonna be some good eatins this Winter LOL.

With that, I'll sign off for the night.

I wish you well...
