Summer Jobs in New York

Hi! Im and Irish 18 year old girl and have been to the city only once but immediately fell in love! I would do almost anything to get back there.
Unfortunately none of my friends feel quite the same so I would love if there was any kind of work I could get that involves young people around my same age? and if possible there was somewhere to find accomodation nearby for safety!
I am particularily interested in television, radio or newspaper and magazine work but I suppose anything I get would be great. Itll just give me the insight I so desperately want from the city.
If anyone knows of any opportunities or programmes that seem suitable please let me know,

Hello young lady. I hail from nyc, am of irish decent which is irrelevant and raised three children on my own-my thought to you is you seem oblivious to the very real danger of being swepped up by swindlers and scammers. If you are not very intelligent and working on your college degree; you are going to meet up with some serious problems. Your seeming childlike wide-eyed innocence at the big city would suggest that you are not about to enter college! EDUCATION is the only way especially if you are female. JUST FIND A WAY AND DO IT ! If not later on you will definately be sorry. A friend on your side.
