Pets are amazing!

Posted 09-06-2011 at 12:00 PM by tanmctee

I have long been a lover of "other people's pets" and now, I'm a confirmed SAP as far as my own is concerned.

I think it might be the same as the grandmother syndrome. Once you become a grandmother, you begin showing pictures and cannot talk or tell anyone enough about how amazing your sweet, amazing and highly above average your grandchild is.

I have a grandchild by the way...she is nearly three and expecting her brother's arrival in December....

My job used to keep me on the road fairly often and between entertaining clients, travel and having a life...a pet was not an option for me.

With my career change nearly two years ago, I find myself home more often --- particularly since my office is located inside (hmmm....writing down a reminder to do a blog on home office hazards in the near future).

One evening I tried to close the garage door and it would not go down, when I opened my car door I found out why, a little four legged creature had triggered the "eye" on the garage to keep it from closing.

We looked high and low for the owners of this little Pug and my every intention was to take him to the shelter if we did not find his owner......it took less than 24 hours of unconditional love and appreciation from this little guy to earn him a name....GUS and a warm comfortable home with people who adore him.

Unfortunately, we did not find his owners and so Gus (which stands for God..hearts...us) has now lived with me for almost one year.

I came up with acronym for God loves Us because I had no idea how much I needed this little stinky, hairy dirty male in my life...lol! But, I must have. He has made me laugh, kept me from being lonely and livened up a boring evening with his antics.

I am now a confirmed pet-a-holic and will rush home so he is not left in the kennel too long, take pictures of him, rock him...oh my goodness...

Bottom line --- PETS ARE AMAZING : )

For those of you who might need a little sparkle in your life, can afford the time, have a place comfortable for a pet and are patient...I highly recommend considering an addition.

With the current economy, many people are unable to keep their pet for whatever reason. In Reno/Sparks Nevada, the current housing market has played a huge role in dislocating pets.

The shelters are full with wagging tails ready to find a new home and adoption is a good option : )

Pets are amazing ---- and so are the people who love them!!!

Pets is one of the most amazing things that God has created. I got a little Maltipoo Puppy from My Doodle Puppy and it has been amazing. She has brought joy into my life and I couldn't be more grateful for them.
