This blog is basically to chart my progress in trying to lose weight...

This is a Record of my daily events including my family when appropriate for my other family members to see if they choose to.

This is my legacy, for my family to read after I am dead and burried. So, any thing on here is meant for them only and if it offends anyone, my apologies, but, its not meant for you and them

Chow for now...

May the LORD Bless all who see this.

I wish you well...

Yard Sale

Posted 08-21-2011 at 01:54 PM by woodworkingmenace

Well, here it is, Sunday. After numerous rains, and torrential downpours, the yard sale is winding down.

My Wife and Son are busy now, tearing down tthe sale, boxing things up, and readying it to go to the Mission or Salvatiion Army or where ever she wants to put it, so it will not be seen by her again LOL.

To show how bad the rain was, Pittsburgh, which is only 40 miles away, got so much rain that it actually flooded the Zoo and killed Four people, because the rain came so fast and six to nine feet of water 'gushed' up out of the sewer system (no combined sewer system can hold that much water, when it comes down so fast, as we have had man hold covers fly off when torrential downpours come also), and in a matter of seconds, they were hip deep in water! Thats the kind of weather my Wife had to contend with, because we get the same weather as Pittsburgh, only sooner, usually, but, this time it was going from North to SouthEast and missed us, but, we got enough of it.

It cost us 28 bucks to put this sale in the paper. My Wife made 25 bucks on Saturday.

My Sister in law took my Son and Daughter to Kennywood, so, it cost us 20 bucks for that. Plus, my Brother in law was 'supposed' to cook some fish for supper, he was passed out drunk, so, it cost me 15 bucks for fast food (Wife already said, she wasnt cooking that day!).... so, I lost 10 bucks that day.

Sunday. I got up at 2pm, instead of 7am like yesterday. Wife made a grand total of 16 bucks!! YEA!!! LOL. So, it looks like this whole thing only cost me 4 bucks, and a lot of fustration for my Wife. I keep telling her, garage sales and yard sales dont make your fortune, but, she keeps trying . I wont even begin to rub it in about how much it cost me, cause she came in like a drowned rat last night, trying to cover everything up in plastic, (didnt tell anyone she was going out side for that, and I was sleeping on the easy chair and heard the thunder and lightning, but, didnt give it a thought that she would be out there with out the kids helping her to keep the plastic wrap on everything that was blowing away, and the dog was running around, like a drowned rat also LOL.

All in all, I think a good time was had by all, and I got off cheap. No computer for my Daughter, until my Wife says we can afford it, and DEFINETELY, no lap top, because she keeps putting it on her bed and destroying the power jack for it...thats 2 lap tops she destroyed and never again. Next time, Desk Tops!

Daughter took off before the tear down, (I told her to wait, that they were going to tear the yard sale down, but, she said her Mom gave her permission to leave... Dont know if she did or not, but, I am 'NOT' happy about this at all...).

Im watching the sky darken, as its fixin to rain again. Best they can do, is, pack it up in boxes and put plastic over it and hope that they can keep it covered enough to ship it off to where ever it will end up at, but, I dont think they will have time enough.

Im sitting here with my back screaming, so, I had to take pain med again. (Was supposed to go to exercise session either today or yesterday, but, yard sale interrupted my schedule-->I am at the mercy of my Wife, because I refuse to drive under the influence of pain meds-->so, Im figuring tomorrow I will get to go, if she doesnt have any appointments).

My Daughter starts College tomorrow!! Finally, we are going to see what she is made of, and if she can hack going to College I know it wasnt for me, as I rather work, but, since she doesnt 'want' to work-->(NO fast food Resturants for 'her', cause she thinks she is 'too good', I think, for them, sheesh...)
If she cant 'cut' College, then she is going to definetely get a job or GET OUT!! Im not having free loaders in my house!! Bad enough, she didnt get a job for the Summer, but, my Wife let it slide (it infuriated me to no end, believe me!!).

And, its going to be interesting to see if she get UP at 7am ROTFLOL... She has been used to getting up at 2PM!! I told my Wife, that my Father and Mother always took the last week of Summer and changed our days around-->OOPS, she is an "Adult" so we cant DO that, eh? Man, this Adult things is so getting out of hand, when a kid is of the age, and her maturity level is not up to snuff to handle adult responsibilities. We failed her in that department I know, and I have regrets for it now. My Son was ready to go to College, but, we werent ready to let him go, and he 'was' mature enough for it, so, she is going to a College close by so that she can live at home. Fortunately, I had worked enough overtime to pay for his College in full, allong with the Grants he got, and him working the Summers, and Working through School. Her? My 401K is gone... Cant pay for nothing, but, she has a Grant to pay for her turition and books, and all we had to pay was 3 bucks this time. Next Semester, we will see how much it will cost us.

In Steubenville, they have the Horizon Grant for the kids who Graduate from either High School, and they can go for two years, almost for free!! She qualified for that one. Now, if she can keep the grade point average up, and complete the courses.

OK, Thunder!! Dark Skies... looks like RAIN to me!!! Just waiting for the drops to start falling, my Wife to start cursing, and my Son to start running around as fast as he can, trying to do this or that. Shame, it would be worth taping and seeing two people run around like chickens with thier heads cut off ROTFLOL... Dam, the things I miss, because my back happens to have arthritus in the bottom, instead of the middle or upper. I can deal with the middle and upper pain and still function, the bottom? If it gets too bad, it sends me right to the ground... So, Im the useless baggage that my Wife keeps around, cause my Daughter is still afraid of me, (just a wee bit), so that it keeps her in line a bit. With this new medication, she seems like her old self again... And, my Wife makes 'sure' she takes it every day.

OK, here comes the Rain!! Im not even going to watch this antic. Just sit on the computer and play FreeCell...

I wish you well...

I really enjoyed your blog, many thanks. It's so natural and real, and to be honest, quite funny too. Sorry about the arthritis, though!
