It's pretty funny that three blog posts later, things have solidified so much for me. I guess it doesn't take long for some things to hit home.
I'm not sure if it's the blog posts or just reading the various forum posts and comments here and picking up on a few things, but never before has Kansas City so dropped off my radar.
The Ozarks always stood strong for me due to lifestyle preferences. I just have a lot more to do there and I enjoy my life there much more.
When I'm in the city, I tend to stay at home and never go anywhere. What's the point in that? (And if I've said this before, it'll probably get said again, but heck, it's my blog, so I suppose I can feel free to repeat myself as much as I want.)
It sunk in crystal clear since making these posts that I'm on the right track to pursuing my path in the Ozarks and not in Kansas City. All my plans are in the Ozarks direction, so it's nice to feel so clear on knowing I am doing the right thing.
I swear, I really wonder how much of it could be the people. Some of those KC posts are such a major turn-off whereas the Ozarks posts aren't, and I do mean that in the sense of a reflection of the people behind them.
When I had my place in Douglas County all those years, I met the nicest people I'd ever met anywhere. I seriously had never met folks like that before. And coming here to this Forum is a reminder of the type of people who live in the Ozarks.
Just because I'd determined my path already and now it's very clear doesn't mean I won't be back here in future days with other thoughts to share.
