I keep going between settling in the Missouri Ozarks or Kansas City with a bit of Saint Louis thrown in.
I'm saving up for a house to buy outright. It'll be a couple of years before I have the right amount, although I could buy an inexpensive place in either KC or STL within the year.
This is the deal. Kansas City is home. Pure and simple. I feel at home there. That's a very important feeling. But I'm not totally a city person. I've lived in plenty of cities, but I tend to stay at home too much in the city and feel like there's not much to do.
I love the Ozarks and I had 5 acres in Douglas County for many years. It was like living in paradise and I loved everything about it. I feel like there's a lot more to do. I love swimming in the creeks and eating in the town restaurants and doing the little bit of shopping I do there.
As I tend to do most of my shopping online, the need for local shopping is not that important for me. And I'm not a nightclub person at all, never have been, so that's not an issue either. Although I like museums and galleries, they don't play a huge role in my life. So proximity to those things that people consider vital to city life aren't important to me.
