Rainy Wednesdays are Still Nice

Bigun and I have been up since 4:30. He was ready to play, play, play, having only walked a combined 60 minutes yesterday. (Dad's gone fishin' for the week, so Big' is hanging with me at the office -- walks are catch as catch can.)
I told him we'd go for a walk as soon as we had daylight, but it's raining, and so I gave him a chew stick, instead. Ninety minutes of gnawing on rawhide seems to have tired him out, for now.
I am glad for the rains because of my newly planted flower beds and the transplanted things, but it doesn't do much for my dog and me. Soon I will have to drive down to keep my appointment to donate blood at Puget Sound Blood Center, and may -- if we get a break in the weather, work in a walk after that. The forecast isn't real hopeful.
Other than that, there's laundry, dishes, and an E.L. Doctorow novel (City of God) to occupy me -- if I ever get away from this magic box!
Even a rainy day is better than a day at work, unless one has no work to go to, so either way is good for me. I am so grateful to have either option available.
