Whale Watching in Southern California begins late December. The best Whale Watching in San Diego is on board Yacht America, a 139 ft schooner. You may not see whales, but a dolphin escort is a sure thing. The peak season is mid January to early February. The fee includes entrance to Maritime Museum, soft beverages and light snacks.
