I am planning to move to Michigan Baker College to pursue my RN degree. Also, planning to purchase a house in Michigan to stay and send my kids to school.
Never been to Michigan, please give me some friendly advices (I am looking for a place that is low on crime rate, safe neighborhood)
Thank you in advance

Where in Michigan are you looking?
I live in Jackson, some what of a smaller city but it is starting to get a lot more stores and hopefully a new mall. As for you trying to be a RN I would suggest to stay closer to Ann Arbor they have great hospitals there and as far as I know pay great.
Ann Arbor has a lot of different places to shop and eat and live. I have never personally lived there but I drive there all the time to get some good food and entertainment.
Michigan isn't doing so well as far as economy. People are losing jobs almost everyday. Houses are sitting on the market for months/years.
The weather is crazy, we pretty much say you can have all 4 seasons here in a day. One day I wore shorts in the morning, a hoodie and jeans in the afternoon and had to drag my winter coat and gloves out for the night, just be prepared.
Hope that helps a little.Posted 12-05-2008 at 08:37 PM by fibrochick1
