I am deeply saddened by this tragedy, and I pray for Congresswoman Giffords recovery. I know nothing about the back story, but I hope the event sends a message to all of us -- violence is never the answer.
I hope this event causes each of us to step back from speaking a harsh word, and brings to mind that life is sacred to each and every living creature. Forbearance is the greater virtue, not valor.
May we learn from this tragedy, so no other tragedies may occur.
God bless Congresswoman Giffords, and all that were traumatized, including the shooter. May all be healed of their suffering, and be free to walk in harmony with one another.
