Coal Mining Provides Families

Posted 11-17-2008 at 11:59 PM by SunnyKayak

Im am grateful for being alive. Coal Mining provided my grandfather a job that fed his wife and two kids. One of his two kids his daughter she met my late father who practice medicine for the coal miners in the building shown below. The town above was built for the coal miners by Blue Diamond Coal Corporation and it had it best time from 1940's to 1960's that is 70 years ago. Coal mining has been going on in this country much longer than that since it founding days.

My grandmother who is still living in here 70's lives off my late grandfather Coal Miner Pension and she has never drove a car in her life and lives in a very remote area but survives oday's world expenses due to my grandfather contribution to the coal mining.

My mom who is retired and raised six great kids is relying on her inheritance her investment in land that has coal on it to survive her final years she would be flat broke without it and so would many families in the Appalachians.

What my point?
God gave man & woman the brain to explore and use the resources he provided for our survival. Alternatives are great but provide those who survive on this earth the resources to adapt to change or leave it as it is.

As a result families are created and able to produce our children of this earth for people like me who wouldnt be alive if it was not for result of the ability to mine
