anyone know anything about tempe?

hey i need to know safe, cheap places to live in tempe. Im a college student just starting on my own with a very low income. I found what seem to be the perfect apartments but im concerned about if the area is bad. They are the Gateway to Apache apartment. Can anyone help me or give me any advice
