This blog is basically to chart my progress in trying to lose weight...

This is a Record of my daily events including my family when appropriate for my other family members to see if they choose to.

This is my legacy, for my family to read after I am dead and burried. So, any thing on here is meant for them only and if it offends anyone, my apologies, but, its not meant for you and them

Chow for now...

May the LORD Bless all who see this.

I wish you well...

Exercise Session

Posted 12-27-2010 at 12:47 PM by woodworkingmenace

Just sitting at my Desk, when my Wife sprung it on me, "How about going to exercise today"!! Hmmmm and that was 'after' I got my bath, so I would be squeaky clean to get all sweated up again LOL...

Well, its been enough days that my 'sore muscles are all gone now... And I didnt over do my pain meds, so, I felt the muscles strain as I was doing the deed...Fortunately, there is coffee and ice tea for me, sitting on my desk while I type...now if I can mooch another Ham Sandwhich, I will be 'set' for food.

Yep, Wife is going to make me a ham sandwhich, and I like the way she does it, she heats the ham up before she puts it in the bun, and there is just something about a warm ham sandwhich that cant be beat, on a cold Winters Day LOL

My Daughter was going to play some hockey today, but, the ice melted!! (I didnt know she actually played with skates, I thought they were still doing street hockey??). So, her 'stuff' is in my car, riding all over the place, until she gets off her duff and shoves it all back into the basement again. Seems like a whole lot of stuff, for just being a Goalie...sheesh. But, glad she invested in pads and all the stuff to keep her safe from a well shot puck! Just read on the internet about a girl dying cause she got hit in the head with one of those things, a year or two ago... What a tragedy for a 10 year old to lose her life, attending a hockey match with her GrandMother...and think how REALLY bad the GrandMother must have felt... Really tough break...But, like any other tragedy, thats the only way we 'learn' to prevent the next one!!
Its like my old Boss always told me, when someone gets killed, only THEN will the City take preventive measures to make sure that someone else wont die of the same mistake!! Gee, I always told him, as long as it isnt ME, and its a blasted shame ANYONE has to die, in order to go into preventive medicine mode to ensure the saftey of others... Enough of maudelin and tragedies...

We avoided the Blizzard of 2010!!! Yeppers, all up and down the East Coast they are getting 12 inches of snow, from the Carolinas to Maine!! And to think, my Buddy and his Family MOVED down to North Carolina cause they, (the one boy), was tired of driving in the snow all the time ROTFLOL!!! Im going to call them today and heckle them, of course, cause we only got a dusting, while they are 'socked in' down --->that away !!

It gives me another reason to call my Buddy, cause I just recieved his Christmas present in the mail today!! hmmm a binocular that takes photos!! (I feel like James Bond now!!). Shame I am not down at his place, cause I would just love taking a shot of that Eagle that flies over thier lake in the morning and in the evening... Man, if THAT isnt a magnificent sight to behold... Im hoping that I see that Blue Jay that comes around here, every so often, and take a picture of that one... Huge thing, and really beautiful... Only saw him a few times last Summer, so, maybe this coming summer I will get a few shots of him. Also, I want to get the cardinals that come and eat at our birdfeeder. The LORD sure does make some beautiful things in Nature, and a good lot of it, we never take the time out to see...

Naw, Im not one of those 'birdies', or bird lovers who go to unusual lenghts to see and photograph all the birds they can see in thier life time, including going to different Countries just to get a shot and write down in thier 'bird book' or what ever they call that thing... A guy I worked with did that, and he has a huge amount of stuff written down, but then again, he is an unusual guy and delves into all sorts of things that I would never even think of... Just feeding the critters from my Bird Feeder is enough for me, and that reminds me, I gotta get the Wife to get more seed, since the snow is on the ground, and its gonna be harder to find seeds... Mostly the pigeons are coming around now, so she just tosses bread out in the street to feed them rascals.

My buddy also gave me one of those things that we download pictures to a key chain 'bob'... Thing is, I dont carry my keys anywhere, cause I dont GO anywhere.
hmmm It will stay on my Desk, gathering dust. I refuse to carry photos in my wallet of anyone, because I have ruined so many over the years, from my wallet being 'washed' so many times!! My Wife always refused to go through my pockets when I worked, cause she never 'knew' what I had in them from work, so, I ruined a lot of electronic pocket organizers and gadgets and gizmos through out the years, until now, I dont go anywhere except exercise and dont have to worry about that anymore!!

It wasnt until I was at exercise session when I remembered I forgot my headband, and my MP3 player!! It seems that everyone from the surrounding area was at the YMCA today!! Had a tough time getting to the machines I wanted to use, and when I did, I took my time using them! I watched some of those people on those walking machines and they were RUNNING to beat the band on some of them, sheesh!! I told my Wife, "someday" if I live long enough, that maybe ME up there, doing that . Always hope for the future...

I saw a commercial about somekind of 'walker' on the Telly last night, about someone losing so much weight in six weeks, and I told my Wife, I work out more than six minutes a day, if you add up the days I work out, (always a few hours minimum), and she simply looks over to me and said "Its because she DIETS TOO".. Duhhhh Well, I still say, if you work out enough, and burn enough calories, you shouldnt HAVE to diet to lose weight... But, she disagrees and eventually, we will see who is right!! I started this exercise business in February, and this February, I will look at the scale, and maybe have my Wife measure me (like the 'Professionals do it'), and see if I lost weight here or there...(problem is, I didnt measure myself in the first place, so, IF I do it this year, it will be a yardstick when I hit February of 2012!!).

OK, about time I get into the tub and grab the large brush and wash ol shamu of any grease, grime or dirt I may have accumulated from my sweatin to the oldies...with out the music, just a bunch of us old farts trying to lose some of those holiday pounds

I wish you well...
