Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Just One Of Many Songs Still Not Heard

Posted 12-22-2010 at 07:02 PM by case44

There was this weird sensation I experienced just a moment ago. When I streamline different radio stations on the Internet, it's absolutely incredible what I can run into. So, when an unfamiliar Bee Gees song hit the airwaves on "The Mike Harvey Show" on Lubbock's KKCL-FM (98.1), something happened that doesn't happen very often: I want to hear it again.

Okay, those moments happen more often than I care to admit, but since I'm a big Bee Gees fan, I couldn't help but think about the vocals and melody of this one song that I have never listened to before. Until tonight, of course. It happens to everyone on the planet that even remotely likes music. Perhaps it gets that way with favorite artists or groups, and something always comes along that piques my interest (and yours, too). Music lovers are quick to find out what the name of that song is, either by way of Google or YouTube. As big a Bee Gees fan as I am, there are still several selections I've never heard, and this one from earlier tonight has me searching and wanting to hear again. And to also get to know. In case any of you folks are wondering, the song is entitled "Run To Me". So I ran to it.

Looks like it's time for me to quit typing and get YouTube up and start listening, oh, about five more times. Man, this world is just great!

It happens more than you think. We just don't think much about it.
