The Solstice 2010
Posted 12-22-2010 at 08:45 AM by elston
The solstice this year was accompanied by a full moon and a lunar eclipse.....first time since the 1600's.
I wrote the following commemoration of the significance of the solstice.
"Last night was the longest of the whole year...... it is all up hill from here.....the trees maybe frozen and snow laden.....but deep inside there is a shiver of life....a faint memory of robins and daffodils and earth worms and warm rain bathing their roots....the elixir of sweet sap and resin.....calling forth leaves and blooms and fruit.
Seeds are watching and waiting...in the frozen earth....remembering their promise....keeping their secret.....until it is spring.
The Sun will slowly, day by day keep the measure like a metranome.....The Solstice has been accomplished....and now it is all coming to pass. Holding our collective breath we wait in the dark.....for we have seen the spark."
Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again.

As the sunshine comes creaping into our eyes, ever so little that is added each day, we also will start flexing and yearning for the warmth of the Spring and its renewing of the World...
Spring starts the growth of all. From the Earth to all that dwell upon it, we will start propogating and bring forth new life upon this huge planet to grow and explore all possibilities, and with that, we shall reach out and grab all we can, and pull it near us to smell, taste, touch and vouch that the World is such a wonderful place to live...
I wish you well...

Ah spring is upon us. Ostara is at hand. Plant some fruit trees and edible folliage. The time has come for eggs and rabbits
