Well...

I was at the hospital yet again this morning. This time I was there to undergo lithotripsy. Lithotripsy is when a kidney stone is blasted with ultasonic waves and pulverized so it can be passed.

The nurse who got me situated did not believe me when I told her that I would scream if the IV line was set in my hand. She had to be proven wrong twice.

I was given a 10mg valium & a 50mg Benedryl & nothing else save a bag of Ringers Lactate. I was scared that having them pump me full of fluid that I would pee all over the table. Thankfully it was an ungrounded fear.

So I was put into a wheelchair & wheeled up into the mobile unit. I've noticed that when one follows the guidelines for dressing comfortably it often conflicts with the temperature. I was freezing!

I got on the table & they pounded me for about 1/2 hour. Then I recovered with ginger ale & graham crackers. I went home & went to sleep. It felt like someone had been repeatedly punching me in my right kidney.
