Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Sky Scenes And Favorite Moon Shots
Posted 09-13-2010 at 05:47 PM by case44
Usually when I discuss early mornings, the subject is sunrise. Sometimes, I get fascinated at what occasionally happens before the colors change from darkness to light. Like, for example, the position of the moon in relation to where the view of the sunrise will eventually be. To preface this undertaking with perspective, my patio door faces northeast from my bedroom.
Perfect!
To put it in a nutshell, I love moon views. You name them, I like them. Half moons. Quarter moons. And let's not forget the all-important full moons. When the moon shines in that important position in the north-to-northeastern sky before sunrise and directly in view from my perch at the apartment, it's quite a sight. Adequate words can't describe what I'm telling you. Just try to picture those images in your mind as you read this. Oh, I could go outside, but no one will want to see me in my nighttime get-up.
I prefer moon views from indoors, and it's much more isolated there. And I can't wait until the very next time, especially if my favorite, the quarter moon, rests in the part of the galaxy where I don't have to crane my neck.
There's no morning like them. The moon, followed by the rising of the sun. All that, and my computer, and my coffee. Or, if I happen to be too tired, that's okay. I can view the wonders of science from my bed with the blinders opened if the position is just right. That's life. ![Cool](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif)

Glad you like color changes in the early morning, Case. Things like that are something many folks take for granted too often, but those things are very picturesque and photogenic. Too bad you couldn't post a pic.
