Everything in Its Own Time

It's become my mantra.
The living room has no furnishings other than a sofa, two chairs, and two ottomans. EIIOT
The bed stand is a folding TV stand. EIIOT
I need new walking shoes. EIIOT
You get the picture. We've been used to just going out an buying anything we "need." Those days are over, now. I'm working, but the trip ate through our savings, and we've no longer got the rental income from our house. It's more expensive to live here than in the RV.
It's good for us to experience this need to delay satisfaction. I cannot help but think it isn't only us that is actually benefiting from the lessons. We've been pretty spoiled over the last 65 years, and it's time we learned how life is for the rest of the world. We learn better from harder lessons. Even that is a lesson. Maybe instead of trying to make things easier on ourselves, we should try to make things harder. Push ourselves a bit more than we have been.
