Somewhere to move with a good commute to NYC?

Posted 11-05-2008 at 02:30 PM by ashycakes

Hi, I know a lot of people have already asked this question, but no one has really answered well enough for me.. so I'm still searching for an answer.. please help me!

I work downtown manhattan, and currently live with my parents in Rockland County, NY. I'm looking to move somewhere in the NY, NJ, or CT area (not in the actual city), and hopefully have a commute about an hour long. I'm looking for a 1BR w/ rent around 1000-1200 month. I don't want anything too expensive because I can imagine I'll have to pay all the other bills that come along with moving out, so I'm giving myself some financial flexibility..

Any suggestions as to where I should probably concentrate my search?

Why not post your question(s) in the New York State forum for better results and more feedback rather than the journaling blog
