Imagine this scene in your mind if you can.
As some of you may know I play games on POGO and Facebook, Sneakers and I gave my Mother a gift membership to POGO several years ago. She is almost 70, has never really been healthy and we thought the games would keep her mind and her hand/eye coordination working better. That being said, for those of you not familiar with POGO it is obviously a game site however, each week they put up 'challenges' and you win a 'badge'. The badge means nothing to anyone but the one winning the badge and the badges are worthless. They are bragging rights and that is pretty much it.
So the challenges start each Wednesday so last Wednesday the challenges come out for the week and my Mother will not play some of the games. She either does not like them or does not understand them so she just does not play but she LOVES those badges. Being the good daughter that I can be at times I agree to do one of the challenges for her. It is the Monopoly: Here and Now game. No big deal, I like that game. The challenge for the week is to pass "GO" 75 times, sounds easy right?
Well it is easy UNLESS you forget about the damned game until 7:00pm Tuesday evening and the challenge ends at 2:00am Wednesday morning my time. So I sit and start this challenge. The first game I play with the bots and pass go 7 times before I get bankrupted, the second game I play with the bots and pass go 5 times before I get bankrupted again. Well, HELL this is NOT working out so well, I will never get this this challenge done at this rate. So what is the solution.........here comes the "I'm not the brightest star in the sky part".
I get out the laptop and I sign on to POGO with my POGO ID and go into the same game room that I have my Mother in on the desktop computer. Game one is done and I've gone past go 7 times on her ID. Damn, still NOT enough. So I set the perimeters of the game a bit differently and go back into the game and sign on to Mozilla Firefox on the laptop and use my friends POGO ID since I have myself on IE on the laptop already. So here we go, three ID's I am in control of ONE bot. Who knew ONE bot would cause so much trouble. Okay, NOW what do I do, I have to have a fourth ID to get this game completely under control and I am running out of time quickly. Well the solution is to create an account for Sneakers, send him a free guest pass and put him on IE on the desktop so I can control the ENTIRE GAME. OHMYGosh, what a nightmare that was. Two computers, 4 ID's, two mouse buttons and NO COFFEE.
Sneakers to the rescue, he makes me a cup of fresh coffee, brings it in and says as he is walking out shaking his head........I'm going to bed......good luck!!!!
CRAP, NO help from Sneakers but it isn't like he is computer savvy anyway so he really would not be much help in the long run. He goes to bed and I am wanting to get this stupid challenge done for my Mother since I promised her I would so I sit and I play. Then I sit more and play more and more than several grueling hours later at 1:30am I FINALLY get that damned challenge done and she has her worthless badge and I go and fall into bed.
Remind me to NEVER promise to do that for her again unless I remember to work on the challenge from time to time throughout the week so it is done well before the time ends to get it done.
This weeks challenges are fairly easy and she will do two of the three, the other one I will do but it is easy as well. You have to win two 500 point games in Spades. I love spades and it doesn't take long to win the 500 point games, even against the bots. The only issue I see at the moment is that we are leaving tomorrow for Iowa to spend a few days there so I guess I will sit this evening later and get that challenge done so I don't have to deal with it next Tuesday evening at 7:00pm and be up until 1:30am again.
No thoughts to ponder from me today, I barely know my name right now because I am so tired; I think I played that damned game ALL NIGHT LONG...........after I got to bed.
