Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Digitizing The Future: Picture-Taking Will Never Be The Same

My cousin did me a nice favor not too long ago. When she decided for herself to get a new digital camera, she gave me her old one. Why? Because I just didn't have one. Given my history, let's just say I'm just a little bit of a late bloomer.
So, here I am now, stepping up in the world of photography. It's just amazing how far behind ol' Case had been for some time, stuck in the dinosaur age of pic-taking. No more disposable cameras with poor lighting. No more errant flashes. As a matter of fact, no more bad photos, period. Now, I can have crisp, clean, colorful pics any old time and have the ability to develop them in the trappings of my own abode. We'll find out soon enough how much ink toner it will take for me to print out all of my pics. I'll have to get some assistance from a trusted friend, but I'll get the hang of it all sooner or later. In addition, there's the business of learning some of the other gadgetry within the camera that I may or may not use at some point. But for right now, this is such a good and useful camera, with the zoom capabilities that I did not have before. Eventually, I'll be able to even --- hopefully --- post pics on City-Data. That's once I get a few lessons from another trusted source............

At any rate, I'm enjoying my "new" digital camera. On my latest vacation, I had taken more than 190 pictures. Needless to say, when I get home, I'll be a pretty busy man trying to decide what to print. I plan to save said pics for future intentions. If I'm not careful, this thing can get pretty addictive. This much is sure: Taking pictures has just taken on an all-new meaning for me from this point further.

If I could ever learn how to upload pics on to Photobucket or other sites I would, though I'm sure it's not very difficult. Maybe you can tell your readers how in a future installment.Posted 07-24-2010 at 10:44 PM by shoe01
