Memorial Day

Even though today should be reserved for honoring our soldiers, that didn't stop me from finishing taking notes on the paper my adviser wanted me to read. I'm particularly confused about a certain point... and will spend the next opportunity to run through a thorough example to solidify all details that have remained elusive.
We had a second murse show up today. This one referred to the gaping hole in my mother's elbow as her "boo-boo." Furthermore, he pulled out her packing that I did yesterday like the chord of a lawn-mower. If it weren't for the fact that she needs someone to pack it every day and I need to return to my university, I would say to just fire the visiting nurse association due to unduly pain and inappropriate sing-song sayings. However, once we tell that organization we don't need them, we'd never get the back, so my mom will just have to suffer through hasty packers.
I hope that I will have an opportunity to have time tomorrow to work, but at this point I just don't know. We have to leave early to travel to see the doctor my mom went to for her surgery. Even though the appointment is at 11:00am, the travel time is always so much more than anyone anticipates. Still I hope that when I get home at the end of it all, there will be some time that I can work on understanding and getting ahead on my work.
It is amazing, though; I am excited to work. After being on some projects that I just didn't care for, I'm happy to have my current project and the set of steps that I can easily see before me. It is exhilarating to have a clear idea of what needs to be done and almost how to do it - a feeling I havn't experienced in about 11 months. I'm looking forward to my road before me and I am starting to feel more comfortable with the prospect of actually completing this dissertation and getting my doctorate.
