Good morning St Cloud!

Posted 05-31-2010 at 04:01 PM by slamont61

Wow, I've been doing this for almost a month. I was in an accident on May 10th and have been in the Hospital in St Cloud ever since.

I must say this is one GREAT place to be, if you're going to be hurt that is. What a super Hospital this is. From good Doctors to the seemingly endless stream of Nurses that have kept me alive and brought me along all the way to the Rehab Unit.

I am not one to be easily impressed but this place will do it to ya. What a great Staff of Nurses there are here. All of them doing their thankless jobs of taking care of me (the pain in the butt that I can be) and keeping my well being as the primary goal. Wow what a great group these folks are. I can't thank them enough, never will be able to. I won't even remember some of them nor some of the time I spent ie; the two weeks in the ICU....

I could not have been in better hands, quite literally. They are a well trained army that does it's job and does it well. I can't say enough good about the staff here at St Cloud. From the food service folks to the Rehabilitation workers - yikes they are all so great.

Of course it was one heck of a Doctor that put old Humpty Dumpty back together again. One new and improved femur and hip and all that comes with it. I was in bad shape and now I'm quite well along the path to my recovery. Yes I've met the Doctor but those early days are all a blur of jumbled thoughts and what not. I didn't even know where I was at first. Can't say that now, that's for sure.

I'm just trying to get healthy so I can get out of dodge here. Everyone has done their jobs and have kept me out of harms way.

I owe my life to this group of people in this hospital sitting along the banks of the Mississippi river. What a place to be, and I mean that.

My wife never left my side in those first two weeks and for that I'll always be thankful. I may not recall all that time but I felt it. Her job is just beginning as I'm a long way off from being recovered. I'll be letting the rest of the bunch here in St Cloud off the hook though, it's time to go home soon.

This is my first entry about this event - much more to come... I can never say enough good about everyone here at St Cloud, but I'll try. Try I will, I just hope they can sense it. They call cared and it showed in my progress. Check back later as I progress though my Rehab.

Thanks to EVERYONE at St Cloud! Thanks to my loving wife. Thanks to my Son Jake as he's taking on some new responsibilities. Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes and regards. I can't thank you all enough. It's a long battle and it's far from over but hey at least there is a fight going on.

I had surgery back at St. Cloud hospital, my first time having surgery in my life and the hospital was FANTASTIC! My doctor was awesome and everything. Both my mom and I really liked him and all the nurses, they take care of you so well.

I am so glad you had a great experience there.

Radical_Car; I was more than pleasantly surprised at just how great the care was and more so shocked at the actual setting there on the Banks of the Mississippi. From my room it was so soothing. I can't imagine another view from a Hospial bed coming even close to how wonderful this was.

In this time of economic hardship with every business running lean and with the least amount of support the quality of care at St Cloud did not lack one thing. How they can do that in this day and age so well is beyond me. There isn't anywhere else I'd elect to go for medical care over St Cloud. The Doctors nurses and patient assistants were great, the food service was above and beyond and the accomodations just perfect. I owe my health to that place - they did such a good job.
