Book of Shadows

Posted 05-28-2010 at 10:30 PM by razorbladesmiley

I got my karmic retribution today! It came in the form of heat rash on my legs. I told the Girlfriend what I did, detailed it down on my little black Book of Shadows. One of the Girlfriend's best friends, Jess, calls hers, "my book of spells". I was gonna call it My Weird Book That'll Incriminate Me In The Next Life, but that was too long and "journal" seemed kinda redundant, since I have so many for just writing random thoughts. My BoS has a theme to it; details of what I'm thinking, of what I'm going to do and the end result.

Its more of my experiments and rituals based on the scientific method. Some of which, totally defy the laws of science. I copied one of Jess' spells the other night since I tend to lose focus on what I was going to center on. I copied hers cuz she's well, more experienced than moi. Its nothing special: Just a recycled notebook with a thick brown cover and has this blood splatter droplets from when I had a bloody nose last summer. So yeah. My personal DNA is on the front cover.

I was looking at its pages today and came across certain doodlings from when I had this enlightening conversation with a friend, Cristen. The doodles started off as herring-bone markings of a box going around in a circle. Then as the convo dragged on, the detailed lines went into a frantic disarray cuz I remember the time clearly of when Cristen said some hurtful words of her questioning my faith. I don't consider myself religious, but I do think I'm more spiritual. I love the outdoors and being outside camping and hiking for days on end. So it just seemed natural that I'd sway more to paganism than adhere to my strict religious Catholic upbringing, which is history to me now.

So after I told the Girlfriend what I did, she throws this up in my face:

Her: So you went out and did a hex and you're going to tell me not to bring bad energies to the house when you're doing it in the back yard? What's wrong with this picture?

Me: I just wanted to do it cuz it kept cycling in my head. And since you spaced me off, what was I going to do but call your best friend. Besides, how do you call yourself a Witch when you refuse to hex?

That's not the point. I didn't guarantee you I was going to do it, but you did it without me anyway. Did you even read up on the Threefold law?

Threefold, tenfold, thousandfold. Its all the same. I knew what I was doing, now I'm paying for it with these skin bumps. I might have scabies or something. Hope its not eczema or I'm blaming you.

The Threefold law says "As you send out, so it returns threefold". So if I wished a jet engine would land on this guy's head, and I had knowing control/information of said airplane part was gonna land on the guy, something really bad is gonna happen to me. Its our belief in karmic retribution.

So yeah. I got this freaking rash on my legs like I'm suddenly contagious. I just had a thought of drawing out my colon in my book. I think I'm due for a colonoscopy sometime soon.
