I want to relocate from Alabama to Colorado. This is something I want to try. I don't want to live in Denver, but I would like somewhere within easy commuting distance to a good source of employment. I have done some research albeit by computer on Highlands Ranch, Aurora and Arvada. They seem to appeal. I will be needing lower cost appartments and a job after altering my marital status before my move, so I will not have a bunch of money to spare. Could someone give me some insider information on Colorado.

Don't move there! I just moved back here to Alabama from there. (Military Move) Colorado is beautiful, but cold most of the year. Summers there are only about 2 months long. Snow is pretty, but soon becomes a pain to remove from your car and to drive in. The cities there are rittled with high crime and drug activity. The prices on everything is higher as is the elevation which will make you suffer every time you leave and go back. Most notible, deoderant does not work on a low-lander for almost a year. You'll dry out your skin, hair, and sinuses. I enjoyed most of the sights, but it's not an easy place to live, especially if you are from Alabama. Go to Texas, the weather is kinda like ours and the people are overly friendly. I lived in Austin for 5 years and loved it.
I'm back in Alabama now and I'm not leaving!
