Another Year Older

I'm not for celebrating my birthday, and this year I completely forgot about it - that is until my eldest (and favorite) niece called me up, singing . Later in the day, my best friend, whom I've known since the playpen brought over a cake, ice cream, a homemade chicken pot pie (delicious) and a HUGE bouquet of flowers which I had to place in several vases! She's such a kind and giving person; I'm so lucky to have her.

Mom is very quiet nowadays...not eating much and sleeping more and more. It won't be long. I can't imagine starting my life over again - which is actually what will take place. I've pretty much lived for my Mother, taking her on all her vacations since Dad hates to travel, including her in almost everything I've done. Weird and unhealthy, I know. But that's the way it went. I'm trying to spend a good bit of my current time getting my house in order..for when that time comes: I'm outta here.
