Spring floods in the midwest.....coming soon

Posted 02-17-2010 at 04:42 PM by xube

Today we were notified that the 16 inches of snow on the ground across most of the upper midwest will mean 2.5 inches of water on every square inch of our soil and the worst flooding in recorded history. Most of the major flooding will be in mid to large cities and could affect as many as 20 million people...twenty times the number directly affected in New Orleans. A slow melt and no spring rain will help but is nearly impossible, and some predict heavier than average rainfall in April, May and June.
