Charity should be funded by religions not government

Posted 02-07-2010 at 04:16 PM by xube

Each year the federal, state and local governments spend over $600 billion for poverty related programming (welfare, medicaid, food stamps, homeless programs, housing, SSI, etc.) while at the same time religious organizations (non-profits) received tax exemptions and other government subsidies totally nearly $1 trillion besides nearly $2 trillion in non taxed donations. It is simple just take away the tax exemptions for religious property and donations and use the revenue for the poor. Isn't that what God's money is supposed to be spent on...people in need...not glass cathedrals, vaticans, golf courses, gold jewelry and lobbyists. Aho
