Looking for outdoor recreation in northeast Georgia

Posted 10-01-2008 at 11:59 AM by Mochawarrior

Hi. I've just recently moved to Buford from Colorado and must admit that it is definately a different climate out here. I'm not used to so many trees! It's gorgeous. Although without the mountains I'm never quite sure which way is west.
I'm homesick because this is the first time I've ever moved to another state. I miss all the bike paths and playgrounds.
I'm not used to being around lakes, but we had a lot of big recreational swimming pools with big slides.
Where can I find these things in northeastern Georgia?
Tennis and basketball courts?
In Colorado you notice things by driving by because you can see pretty far in the plains. Out here I miss the huge hospital because of all the tall trees.
