A Note on School Fundraisers

Posted 10-19-2009 at 05:08 PM by KarenRice

Already, I'm kind of sour on fundraisers for our school district; the district receives an incredible amount of tax revenue thanks to being located in a vacation home market. Many of the homeowners paying property taxes to the school district are from another area and thus do not have children in the system. This is a huge amount of revenue the school receives. But, I digress.

If you are going to have your child participate in school fundraisers, I suggest you learn the little lesson of reciprocity. That means, if you ask someone to buy Gertrude Hawk Chocolate from your kid, then expect to be asked to do the same for the other kid's fundraiser.

It's only fair. If you ask, expect to be asked. And if you have received, it's only right to give a little too.
