Fix in the NBA

So I read all over the news about the Kings-Lakers series from 2002, and I can say after seeing youtube higlights from these games that the Lakers were really given an upper hand in that series. It makes one wonder what other series have been fixed. One that comes to mind is 2006 between the Heat and the Pistons. Particually in game 2, Miami's trailing late in the game, the betting line was the the Pistons would win by no more than 6. So Miami gets several easy baskets after the refs called some ridiculous calls on Detroit. Lets all keep in mnd the previous year the Pistons played the Spurs in the finals, that ended up as the third lowest watched series in history. In 2006, the Heat were one of the most popular teams that year. In 2002, the Lakers were as well. Had the Kings beat the Lakers in 2002, they would have gone on to face the New Jersey Nets. You can probably believe that would have been a low-watched series.
What does all this tell me? It tells me the NBA seems to be in a High-School mentaility. They root for the popular teams to win. They dont seem to care one bit about good, clean basketball. I still love the game, but the game is making it hard for others to love it. the game has a lot of holes to fix.
Thanks for reading Canes Corner.
