Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Responding To Prophetic Words

Posted 12-26-2023 at 01:46 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets." - Amos 3:7

Along with timing, it is key to understand the role we play as workers in God's Kingdom to see prophecy come to pass. Without understanding that prophecy requires action on our part, we might become upset when a prophetic word seems unfulfilled.

Disappointment can stir up questions like, "Did I hear God?" or, "Did I miss what God...

December 25, 2023 - Exhortation

Posted 12-25-2023 at 09:33 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Galatians 6:9 - "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

You may get confused and sometimes disillusioned because things in the spirit realm are often not predictable. Then you ask: How long do I need to pray to get a breakthrough? When will I step into greater increase and blessing? When will there be a shift in my family for the better? Where is my healing miracle?

The simple and unpopular...

December 24, 2023 – Exhortation

Posted 12-24-2023 at 03:20 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Living in regret will stifle and hinder your ability to move forward in your Christ calling. The story of Lot's wife (Genesis 19:26) is a true cautionary tale that warns us of the dangers of looking back instead of focusing on God's purpose for your life and choosing to move forward. He is the God of restoration, so ask Him for new occasions to advance His Kingdom.

Sometimes, Believers gaze at and grieve over missed moments, believing all is lost. If they're stuck in grief mode,...

Unto Us A Child Is Born

Posted 12-24-2023 at 11:49 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Isaiah 9:7 - "Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his Kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this."

Jesus is the most precious gift that God has given us. He is the most beautifully packaged gift, so complete and so necessary for our lives. God gave us this gift so that we would have everything...

The Jonah Generation

Posted 12-24-2023 at 03:52 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

We must not perceive things the way they are in the natural.

The Body of Christ is entering a time of transition and God is about to raise up a new breed – a Jonah Generation.

VICTIMHOOD OF THE RELIGIOUS HAMPSTER WHEEL

Sometimes, the Western Church can look more like an institution; maintaining an appearance of having its act together when the reality is that many are backslidden in their hearts. Many others are caught up in a merry-go-round of...
