Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Romans 1:1 - "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle, separated unto the Gospel of God."
Many are called, but we are never separated. That separation is a threefold thing:

FIRST: The New Creation separates us from the old life.

SECOND: As the Word is built into us, we are separated unto Christ. First, there is a separation from the world; now there is a separation unto the Master. Jesus becomes the Lord of our lives. His Word...

Into The Streets

Posted 11-29-2016 at 04:18 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

It's time to break out. It's time to step on up and come out of the "house" into the streets. It's time to take authority over your circumstances. No more self-abasement, nor more thinking, "I can't do this." You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Elijah's mission was to awaken the Israelites to their apostasy, backsliding, lukewarmness, and to call them back to loyalty to God. Are you a Reformer? Believe God for the impossible and you...

The Siprit-Enlightened Mind

Posted 11-29-2016 at 04:11 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

As contradictory as it may seem, many true children of God remain dominated, for the most part, by the laws of their natural or carnal minds.
One reason the Church struggles so much today, is because many Christians still think like the world, and thoughts give birth to actions.

For example, some say, "I won't believe it until I see it." This is the exact opposite of a spiritual mindset.
The natural mind says, "If I see, I will believe."...

Impossible To Be Unfruitful

Posted 11-29-2016 at 04:03 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon him while He is near." - Isaiah 55:6

God is calling us to seek Him out. There is something He wants to reveal to us. There is something we don't know, about His PURPOSE for our lives (our DESTINY), and have yet to discover, and it is His desire to reveal it.

We must be a burning and shining people who know where we are headed, fixing our eyes on our destiny, if we are going to awaken broken and disillusioned...

Soaking In Living Water

Posted 11-29-2016 at 03:57 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Do we soak in Living Water? We must return to our Provider daily, just as the manna was provided to the Israelites in their wilderness experience--daily. Yesterday's manna will not do.
As we go on our way, seeds can be choked by life's worries, riches, and pleasures, and they will not mature without soaking in the Living Water (Luke 8:14).

Do we allow God's presence to work in us for His will and His good purposes, creating in us the fruit of the spirit?
