Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Scripture Of The Day – September 15, 2021

Posted 09-15-2021 at 10:40 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Everything, even our intelligence, and physical appearance is now subject to change for the better. Old failures, prejudices, and attitudes are destined to go.

New faith and hope should be growing within us daily.

HOW DO I ATTAIN SUCH A WONDERFUL NEW BEGINNING?

Seeking Communion - September 15, 2021

Posted 09-15-2021 at 12:13 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

The Lord does not call you to walk your walk alone. He has not called you to walk through testing, trials, and triumphs, alone. He has not caused you pain that was unnecessary. He has not given you more than you're able to carry -- within yourself, you must learn -- 'Lean upon Him.'

Today is the day the he pours fresh oil into your understanding. He does not want you left to your own understanding. He wants His understanding to bring you under Him, to stand up in...

Scripture Of The Day - September 14, 2021

Posted 09-14-2021 at 12:06 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Galatians 6:7 - "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

It is a mockery to question that I can obey God and not have a reward. It is a mockery to think that I could do something that God would not take notice of.

Your inheritance in Christ is a lifestyle -- it is a place to live from. it seems so abstract because it is so different from ordinary daily living and mindsets. We live from the abiding presence of...

Eating From The Tree Of Life

Posted 09-14-2021 at 04:17 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

If we limit God by what we see in the natural, we can easily become double-minded concerning our future and God's promises. James 1:8 speaks about those who are double-minded as being "uncertain" (unstable) in all their ways. When we are unstable and not completely focused on God's Word, we can fall or stumble along the way. None of us enjoys stumbling – it can be harmful to our health...and spiritual vision! With today's challenges we must have supernatural vision to remain in a position...

Scripture Of The Day - September 13, 2021

Posted 09-13-2021 at 12:43 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Malachi 3:6 - "I am the Lord, and I do not change..."

Even if we become faithless, God remains faithful. As humans, we often change toward people when they change toward us, but God does not do that. He is who He is, and nothing we do (or don't do) changes that fact.

It is awesome to think about how Jesus abides in us, and therefore, we are never alone -- we are never without hope and strength. As we repent from our sins, His forgiveness for past, present,...
