Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Intercessory Worship

Posted 12-08-2021 at 09:01 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Jesus simply could not look upon the multitudes and not have compassion for them (Matthew 9:36, 14:14). His heart was so full of the love of the Father that He couldn't look without compassion.

We are to live the same way. We should be so full of God's love that rivers of living water should flow from our hearts and change lives and atmospheres everywhere we go. This is what Jesus was referring to when, in Matthew 10:8, He said, "Freely you've received, freely give." ...

Discipling The Future

Posted 12-08-2021 at 12:03 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Matthew 5:1,2 - "...and when He was set, his DISCIPLES came unto him: And He opened his mouth and TAUGHT them...."

As much as we love, thank God for, and honor the ministries of the saints of the past, we need to reach for the MINISTRY of Jesus in His BODY—in the fullness of redemptive character and power today. The entire earth is groaning in anticipation to see this type of ministry in the sons and daughters of God.

We can talk all about the next generation...

The River Of God

Posted 12-07-2021 at 03:52 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

The river of God is always moving, always changing, and we must change with it. Think how many times you've read the Word and remarked, "I've never seen that before." Exactly. It was revelation for "today." We must be very careful to not become locked into a belief system that never changes. When we do, revelation is no longer revelation. Ask yourself if your capacity for the living Word is the same as it was ten years ago.

With each battle won on the victorious...

Scripture Of The Day – December 6, 2021

Posted 12-06-2021 at 06:31 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working." (John 5:17)

We work and partner with what he is already doing in Heaven. The father works in heaven and we work with the Holy Spirit on earth. "So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he "sees" the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise."

Once we discern our calling in Christ, we depend...

Eternal Potential

Posted 12-03-2021 at 10:43 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

We are called as fishers of men (see Matthew 4:19; Mark 1:17). The question posed is, “what exactly are we using to attract people to our message”?

In our quest to condemn sin, we have actually begun to condemn the people that are caught in the traps of sin. We place the focus of our message on how bad sin is, rather than on how compassionate Jesus is.

FINDING GOD'S PURPOSE FOR OUR LIFE

The problem is that many people have tried religion; they may have...
