Posted 04-17-2011 at 10:05 AM by zthatzmanz28

Some lessons we learn in our youth tend to take awhile to take root. For instance the one where Dorthy is told to "Follow the Yellow Brick Road." For Dorthy it was obvious what and where the road was. She simply looked on the ground and proceeded towards an unknown destination and result.
For most of us, the road is not always so clearly marked. It doesn't come with mile markers, directional signs or even exit ramps. INstead we tend to do what Daniel Boone had done and just...

Posted 01-01-2011 at 05:00 PM by zthatzmanz28

Started out the last blog with just having returned from St. Augustine and then I ended up in the mountains of West Virginia on a hot July day in 2009. Well, during Christmas break we headed for Florida.
We had found the St. Augustine web site last year just before Christmas. It was beautiful. Too bad we justy found it and Christmas was just 6 days away. Besides we had already committed to traveling to Michigan to see the kids--but NEXT year we would consciously plan to be in St. Augstine...

Living on the road

Posted 12-30-2010 at 09:41 AM by zthatzmanz28

Just returned from our first real trip with the Holiday Rambler. We had hauled it from Michigan to North Carolina the summer of 09, but it wasn't a leisure trip we were on.
The 30 foot HR was stuffed with another 2,000, maybe 3,000 pounds of our possessions. The 1995 Silverado with 5.7 liter with 187K miles and a limping 4L60e automatic transmission struggled through Ohio so badly I was sure it was going to puke its guts out all over I 77 once we were in the mountails of West Virginia....
