Thus endeth Mosquito season 2014. Anyone could have bagged their limit on any given day. What an insanely buggy summer it's been.

Plenty of rain too and this time around I was thankful for it. Rather extensive garden activity this year, and let me tell you this; that work was way over the top crazy. It was a never ending cycle of planting, watering and care taking. Weeds and grass growing out of anything and everything. Alas once these wonderful plants began to bear the fruit...

It has been a while since I've updated this blog. I've kind of been in shock watching my small town die a slow and painful death. One business after the next closing up shop, nothing new coming and the Local Government sits on it's collective a$$ watching things go south day after day, week after week, month after month. It is a sad state of affairs.

Our last remaining cafe closed down several weeks back a month after the American Legion was foreclosed on. These were unrelated...

Whew, we've made it through yet another rugged Nothern Minnesota Winter! This one wasn't so bad, no long string of double digits below zero. While the snow has for the most part melted, the signs of Spring have yet to appear, the ones sent up by Mother Nature that is. Every where else it's beginning to pop up.

Families are beginning to take walks together, Mothers with the strollers, the kiddies on little bikes. Dog walkers are casual instead of hurried. The weather is playing...

Well it's Fall in Sebeka again. Cool at night and not-so-bad in the day. Its a great time of year to walk Tim's Trail - no flying bugs not many tics left to feed. Walking in the crisp fall air with the crunch of this summer's leaves is one of my favorite activities.

As the enterence of September nears I'm reminded that the short season of summer is almost over. When I look back at this one, yikes was it ever something else.
