Good morning St Cloud!

Posted 05-31-2010 at 04:01 PM by slamont61

Wow, I've been doing this for almost a month. I was in an accident on May 10th and have been in the Hospital in St Cloud ever since.

I must say this is one GREAT place to be, if you're going to be hurt that is. What a super Hospital this is. From good Doctors to the seemingly endless stream of Nurses that have kept me alive and brought me along all the way to the Rehab Unit.

I am not one to be easily impressed but this place will do it to ya. What a great Staff...

Long time no see; winter edition.

Posted 02-01-2010 at 12:46 PM by slamont61

So I've been missing huh? No entries in quite a while. Well I've been a bit busy around here this year. We bought a home in this sleepy small town - a fixer-upper that is, and it was mid-way through a renovation when we took it over. Project after project after project; a never ending cycle. It does wear on you.

Though the move was but a few blocks in measure, we're now "in the city" as opposed to on the fringe or the edge. Not much has changed except for the cast of...

Everything's all a Twitter...

Posted 05-11-2009 at 03:15 PM by slamont61

I don't get it. Twitter? What is all the rage of it? To me it looks like Texting on Steroids. Makes no sense to me - just one more wedge in our Social Skill Set. You know I'm just now getting used to there being My Space and Facebook - and saddly I have begun to interfacec with Facebook - a bit. I'll draw the line at Twitter - no thanks.

Are our schools now trying to circumvent this new form of Social Interaction? Are the kids being given enough social skills to exist out in the world?...

Springtime in Minnesota...

Posted 04-08-2009 at 01:59 PM by slamont61

Ah yes, we've seen the snow melting (well most of it) and seen the small rivers rise and crest, flooding several areas as ice jams build up near bridges. All part of Momma Nature's plans I guess.

It's so nice to be able to say I once again survived the Minnesota Winter. Egad! I did? Minus 40 below zero and who knows what wind chill factor? Oh yes, that and more. We're a tough breed up here in Northern Minnesota. I've only been through two of these but most folks have done...

OMGIC! (Oh my gosh it's cold)

Posted 12-16-2008 at 02:27 PM by slamont61

Our first winter storm has come and gone - yet it isn't even winter yet. On Sunday we had Blizzard Conditions all day long as we picked up about 12 inches of snow. The tempertures plummeted from a low high of minus 8 degrees through to -27 this morning. You don't want to know the wind chill factor. Factor it in and we feel like almost -50 degrees. Yikes is THAT ever cold.

Even my dog, a Miniature American Eskimo seemed perplexed when she stepped outside. I've had to shovel...
