Another good restaurant in Rock Hill

Posted 05-26-2010 at 09:23 PM by loulamb (Lou's Rock Hill area bar and restaurant blog)

Tried out the Sahara Mediterranean Restaurant and Cafe, and like it so much we went back the next weekend. 1014 India Hook, Rock Hill, where Dewitt's used to be. Really liked the Adana Kabobs, and the home made hummus was excellent. Locally owned and operated, not a chain!

Carolina Cafe - Mt. Gallant Rd.

Posted 01-14-2010 at 11:02 AM by loulamb (Lou's Rock Hill area bar and restaurant blog)

Since the Varsity was closed for the holidays a few weeks ago, we decided to try the Carolina Cafe at 1204 Mt. Gallant, Rock Hill. It occupies the site of the original Little Cafe before they moved to Cherry Rd. and went downhill. Carolina Cafe is fairly small, with tables for 4 and a counter. The Varsity - No wonder the've been around forever!

Posted 06-15-2009 at 02:20 PM by loulamb (Lou's Rock Hill area bar and restaurant blog)

The Varsity in Rock Hill is one of those places that you wish you had tried sooner! It was always a bit of a drive until my recent move, and since breakfast places seem to be closing left and right, we decided to give this Rock Hill mainstay a try. Must say, they did not disappoint. Excellent "traditional breakfast", fairly prices, and with great service. We have a new Saturday morning favorite, with Nishie G's as a close second.

Nishie G's (India Hook Rd.)

Posted 05-07-2009 at 08:36 PM by loulamb (Lou's Rock Hill area bar and restaurant blog)

A group of us had breakfast at the newer Nishie G's location on India Hook Rd. Have to say, it was probably the best food we have had in a long time. (Especially the hash browns!) Everything was well prepared, service was good. Only negative comment was that they use plastic-ware and paper plates and cups. Not very "green".
