The 60s, suburbia and "morals"

Posted 08-16-2012 at 03:09 PM by the city (SLO Boy's Blog)

I'm from the 90s era, but I sure love the old family days of the 60s and all those things you people did back then. Now suburbia is a little different, but somethings haven't changed:

Tract homes (started in the 60s) where soldiers wanted to move and start families. Not to mention families wanting to come CA because they liked the beach.

In those days when....

took your kids for ice cream (in more modern years it includes frozen yogurt)

Posted 02-23-2012 at 08:26 PM by the city (SLO Boy's Blog)

So I am wondering is everyone's opinion on how to deal with excess wealth? How much is excess? Do you think as followers of Christ we should avoid living in places with excess wealth?

I live in California, and my aunt who lives in Orange County and her family are Christians but are consumed by wealth and have became a little selfish in their ways. They shoot to perfect their lives, but I feel it's not to glorify God.

I personally feel being content with a middle class...

What I Like About Oxnard, CA

Posted 01-04-2012 at 09:22 PM by the city (SLO Boy's Blog)
Updated 01-06-2012 at 09:16 PM by the city

I was born in Oxnard, California. A medium-sized city in Southern California.

I have relatives from an hour to two hours away from that city. And also have my parents two and a half hours away.

My parents and siblings lived in that area for the majority of their lives.

I enjoy there being malls with high-end apparel stores to shop at and trendy restaurants to eat at.

I enjoy diversity like having friends different than myself and also having friends...

Country life...or what I like about it

Posted 01-04-2012 at 08:52 PM by the city (SLO Boy's Blog)

When I lived in a rural town called Templeton and spent time in nearby rural cities of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, and San Luis Obispo this is what I considered to be the country life:

Safety. Crime rates are lower in rural areas as people live far about and rich people live away from the poor people as do middle class people live far away from the other two.

No traffic. Less businesses, less people, and less places to go for fun means less people...
