Is NoMA a safe neighborhood?

Hi, I am moving to NoMA for 3 months to do an internship and I will be living on 3rd St and K St. I want to know how this street is, how the surrounding blocks are and how it is at night. Would it be safe to walk to the market or get food at night? And how is the NoMA-Gallaudet metro stop? Thanks
