Too cold for the greenhouse

Posted 01-10-2015 at 07:25 AM by PotsdamBear83

Well, it got too cold and I lost all my lettuce and spinach in the greenhouse. I guess I'll need a heat source if I'm going to have lettuce all winter. Last year was much easier.

Suburban gardening in North Carolina

Posted 01-03-2015 at 09:49 AM by PotsdamBear83

Welcome to the 2015 gardening season...well, it's a new year anyway.

As I end my Christmas vacation from work, this week my mind has often drifted of to the new gardening season. While planning my new garden, I realized I wanted a better solution for climing plants like peas, beans, cucumbers and the like. So I built this trellis. It actually was easy and will end up using some space that I couldn't use before (the walkway).

I currently have lettuce growing in a container...
