Hello Y'all! Just wanted to chime in to update a little.
We are now in our permanent residence (not the base house any longer!) in Palmer!!! My dream has finally come true...now I'm just "unpacking" that dream!

We're in our base house. Thankfully we're all unpacked too! We have to stay in this place a year, then if we find AK is where we'd like to retire, we can find a place to move into PERMANENTLY! ((After unpacking this time around, I'm glad for the year wait!))

Not much else to add except that we're getting ready for the Super Bowl tomorrow! My beloved Steelers are in it once again....so of course you KNOW who "I" will be cheering for!
Now all we're doing is waiting for housing to tell us when we can move into our "REAL" house!

Well, we decided not to bring the miniature horses with us on the ferry, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise! It would have been a rough trip for them. We will go back in the summer to fetch them!
Also...we just arrived at Elmendorf AFB yesterday. Now we're just sitting here in TLF waiting for a house to open up. And for the blasted volcano to erupt!

We're still plugging along on the horse trailer. Got the floor 1/2 way done...put the sealant in between the floorboards. Now we have to go back to sand down the excess. Then we'll apply the Duplacoat. After that we have to bolt the wooden pieces to the open space above the back doors. ((Even with blankets, it's gonna be COLD for the horses! We want to do whatever we can to make them comfortable!)) Hubby gets to redo the lighting when he returns as "I" have no knowledge of that stuff WHAT...
