Need Help, And Advice!!!

Well I'm 17 and I Decided That I Want To Move To New York (Bronx) When I Turn 18. The thing is i don't know how to find room mates plus i don't know how much I should save before I move I have a year before I make a movement but how much should I save and what is the best website for me to find great apartments at.?
