My wife and I recently visited an iconic restaurant in Nokomis. Pop's Sunset Grill is located on the intercoastal and you can literally tie your boat to the dock six feet away from where you eat. It was a Friday night and, though it was early, a crowd was in full swing at the outdoor tiki bar. Live music filled the air with sounds of Jimmy Buffet and other seaside classics....

I find Venice to be a very safe place to both bike and run. I live in Venice and daily jog throughout the communities while my son rides beside me and we have never had any concerns. We do of course avoid 41 and most major roads, but most roads have a bike lane. I live to the east of 41, which to me is ideal, because there are so many great places to ride. Communities are very safe and people are usually friendly to us.
