Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Something New In Northwest Arkansas: A Completed I-49

Posted 11-08-2021 at 06:59 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Sometime next year, your writer is going to be headed to Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the surrounding areas for a road trip. It will be well worth the wait. I'll be making a list of places to visit and eateries to munch on things. But there is one significant road that this highway fanatic will be interested in exploring.

Interstate 49 is now completed from I-40 up to Kansas City, Missouri. That includes, of course, Fayetteville and Bentonville and a growing...

Thanks To Bumbling Biden*, America Is Waking Up To The Red Pill

Posted 11-08-2021 at 02:27 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

It's happening, at least, in Virginia. And it won't be the last state to make every effort to remedy what has been --- and still is --- our nation's biggest nightmare.

This is what stealing a presidential election brings to us. An entire political party is faced with a grim future as a fraudulent, pompous, arrogant, and filthy administration is losing more and more of its constituents on a daily basis. None can be more true than what is captured on a recent YouTube...

Shaking Up The Channels At SiriusXM

Posted 11-02-2021 at 06:35 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Fasten your seat belts, sports fans..........and music lovers. Get ready for 60s Gold.

It happens tomorrow morning. 60s on 6 is seeing the end of a long era, as the channel will move up the dial from Channel 6 to Channel 73. I guess SiriusXM honchos had decided that CoffeeHouse's channel would fit better on 6 than its soon-to-be predecessor. Some other channels will scoot over a bit, and more will be tossed hither and thether. Also among the movers will be...

5,000th Consecutive Saturday: Grand Ole Opry Longevity

Posted 10-30-2021 at 06:04 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

You could say that it's been around the block a time or two.

In fact, it's nearly one hundred years old, but here we are on a very special weekend. I'm not in Nashville this second, but I'll have access to SiriusXM Channel 59, going back and forth with the World Series. The event is the Grand Ole Opry. Country music's biggest stage will be celebrating their 5,000th consecutive Saturday night show, live and in person for those who attend. Big stuff....

Fifty Great Years Of One Shell Plaza In Houston

Posted 10-28-2021 at 04:52 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Updated 11-04-2021 at 08:20 PM by case44

It has stood the test of time. And all these years later, Houston's bastion of modernism looks as good as ever.

Fifty years ago, One Shell Plaza became the first 50-story skyscraper in Downtown Houston and represented a new era in redefining a skyline's image forever. That's when it first opened. To this day, it remains what I believe as the Bayou City's most definitive high-rise. One Shell Plaza is among my all-time favorites in any city. Houston ought to be so...
