Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

On we goeth!

Your Writer Is Still Trying To Digest A Texas Rangers Miracle

Posted 12-22-2023 at 06:20 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

It may be just a few days left before Christmas when this chickenscratch is being written, but your writer is still trying to get used to the fact that the baseball team I grew up watching.............had actually won a world championship!

Most of you out there already know that I'm a Houston Astros fan, but that isn't my local team. It just happens to be in my home state of Texas, but I've spent my entire life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That's where the...

A Bizarre Finding On A Hotel Telephone

Posted 12-18-2023 at 06:51 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Ol' Case had finally finished his Christmas shopping and gift wrapping, so the time had come to sneak away from Dallas for about a day and a half. Tyler was once again Ground Zero for road trip endeavors.

As great as it was to get back to East Texas, said trip did not go uneventful. It was comical discovering one crazy thing you don't get every day........................on a hotel telephone. You see, I often use it to set the wake-up alarm, as the phone is often...

They've been big in the El Paso/Juarez metro regions, so now, let's see what happens when a Corralito Steakhouse gets built outside of their area. Guess where that location sits, boys and girls?

Where else but Lubbock, Texas?

What will get the most intrigue is the Mexican-inspired menu Corralito offers. It's a unique experience all in itself, and it has breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections. Even though the place actually opened about...

Singing The Car Wash Blues: Pay More, Get Less

There probably aren't two worse things in life than weak coffee and weak soap. They usually wouldn't go together, but then, people who dared might try. Well, if you happen to put that weak soap in your weak coffee, then forget it. It won't improve the taste.

Now, when I need my car cleaned, having strong soap is vitally important. Recently, I took Junior (my new car) to a newer car wash to have it cleaned up. For one visit, it seemed to do well, as...
